Cape Town - Comedian Bill Cosby - who was recently sentenced to three to ten years in prison - is allegedly having a hard time adjusting to life behind bars, according to RadarOnline.

Bill Cosby spent his first night behind bars at a new, state-of-the-art, maximum security prison in suburban Philadelphia.

The AP reports he's now in a cell by himself that's located near the infirmary.

"We are taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure Mr. Cosby's safety and general welfare in our institution", Corrections Secretary John Wetzel said, according to KSHB.

The disgraced comedian is expected to spend the next three to 10 years of his life at the state-of-the art SCI Phoenix prison in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

Cosby's lawyers are vowing to appeal his conviction, and they've already outlined some potential issues - from Judge Steven O'Neill's weighty decision to let five additional accusers testify at Cosby's retrial to new allegations that prosecutors used a doctored tape as evidence.

Cosby made clear in that testimony that he had no verbal consent to engage in sexual contact with the woman, and without it, he was breaking the law, the judge said.

In 2016, Cosby's legal team tried using a defense revolving around the comedian's race and institutionalized racism but subsequently dropped that plan.
