As part of the austerity drive initiated by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government on Monday sold 61 out of 102 luxurious cars including bulletproof vehicles parked at the Prime Minister House.

VK Singh was asked when India intends to have a dialogue with Pakistan, to which he replied, "Dialogue will happen provided the environment is made conducive for it".

India is skeptical of the independence in the functioning of the civilian dispensation in Pakistan. Imran Khan after his hardline posture during campaigning has expressed interests about starting a new chapter with Pakistan.

"I don't think that there will be any change in Pakistan's nature". He also said, " Did you all expect a change?

While speaking at the sidelines of an event organised by FICCI, VK Singh said that if a Prime Minister of a country is backed by its Army, then it is the Army which rules that particular country, not the PM. So, let's wait and watch how things go - whether the person remains under army control or doesn't remain under its control.

"India's policy is very clear". He also talked about dialogue with Pakistan which is in the pipeline for a while now. "We continue to subject these people to unfair treatment", he said.

An official statement issued after Qureshi's daylong trip to Kabul said that in his meetings with Afghan leaders, the foreign minister "underlined the need for dignified, sustainable repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland through a gradual and time-bound plan". But we have no other option but to engage in dialogue.

"Pakistan has its own nature and we can not change it". Qureshi also said that the issues are complicated and the two countries may face hurdles in resolving them, he added, "We must engage. The Islamabad declaration is a part of our history".
