BRYAN SINGER in Talks to Direct RED SONJA

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the X-Men: Apocalypse director is in talks to direct Millennium's Red Sonja, despite recently facing lawsuits for alleged sexual misconduct and bad PR after he was sacked for not showing up to set on the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Most recently, Ashley Edward Miller was hired to work on a new draft, and he already has a connection to Singer via X-Men: First Class, which the director produced.

Millennium hopes that the Red Sonja flick, which has been in development hell for over a decade, will be the start of a successful franchise that will tap into the same crowd that turned out for the super successful Wonder Woman.

Avi Lerner (The Expendables, The Hitman's Bodyguard) and Joe Gatta (Conan the Barbarian, Out of the Furnace) produce with Cinelou's Mark Canton (300, Escape Plan) and Courtney Solomon (Dungeons & Dragons).

A previous Red Sonja adaptation was filmed in the 80s, and starred Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This is a decline of -220,152 shares over the average 10,209,359 shares that were traded daily over the last three months. It was the last financial update before the second half of the year, when Musk had vowed the company would be profitable.

Perhaps you could make the argument that Singer's name is valuable because you can slap "From the Director of X-Men" on the poster, and while that may be true, it certainly wasn't enough of a draw for Jack the Giant Slayer, so why would it be any different for Red Sonja?

Film studio Millennium is creating the film and is reportedly "willing to pay top dollar" for Singer to direct.

Singer, who most recently directed X-verse TV series pilot The Gifted for Fox in 2017, has long fielded sexual assault allegations and rape accusations, and was sacked by Fox from Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody over "unexpected unavailability".

It's likely that Millennium will face pushback over the potential hiring of Singer, an increasingly controversial figure in the film community, and one that was dropped by his agents. She headlined her self-titled book in the late 1970s before going on to star in subsequent multiple Dynamite series.
