Carson Wentz will start in Week 3 vs. the Colts

How quickly can the Eagles’ Carson Wentz look like his old self

How quickly can the Eagles’ Carson Wentz look like his old self

Although Nick Foles stepped up when Wentz went down, there was no question among the Eagles who would be the starting quarterback when Wentz was healthy despite Foles's Super Bowl run.

Wentz had an unsustainable 7.5% TD rate in 2017, which we can not expect him to replicate this season.

Tight end Zach Ertz said he's excited to get Wentz back "whenever that is", but cautioned that the team shouldn't expect to rest all its hopes on the young quarterback.

There were some within the Eagles organization who thought that, from a football standpoint, Wentz was ready to play Week 1, though the team stuck to a plan it had laid out for the star quarterback, taking a long-range view.

And it said North Korea is violating sanctions by transferring coal at sea and flouting an arms embargo and financial sanctions. It said some products allegedly were off-loaded from Russian ships, which were identified in the report.

Wentz's original goal was to be ready for the season opener September 6th against Atlanta, but had not been cleared for contact. In that game, Foles was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 373 yards and three touchdowns. In two games, the Eagles have gone 1-1 and averaged just 322 yards of offense after averaging 365.8 yards per game last season. Before the injury, Wentz was playing at an MVP level.

Wentz set a single-season franchise record with 33 touchdown passes last season. The unit is dealing with multiple injuries: Darren Sproles did not play against the Bucs (hamstring), Jason Peters left the game early, Jay Ajayi left the game and then returned (back), Mike Wallace could be done for the season (ankle), and both Mack Hollins and Alshon Jeffery have not taken a snap this season. It wasn't like the Eagles had a lot to consider when Wentz was cleared to play. "It's going to take some time to get back into the rhythm of the flow of game", Pederson said. "The speed of the game is different than practice".

Wentz's return comes at a good time for the Eagles.

"He's a guy that will be totally prepared", Pederson said.
