State and county prosecutors in NY have launched investigations into alleged sexual misconduct by CBS' former chairman and CEO Les Moonves, as well as at CBS News, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing. Moonves admitted to consensual relations with three of the women named in the article but denied what he called the "appalling accusations" in the report.

CBS is facing a pair of investigations in NY state after being subpoenaed regarding sexual harassment claims against former CEO Les Moonves, other top leaders and workplace culture issues.

The New York State Attorney General has also requested information about the allegations, CBS said.

The lawyers' investigation is also looking into "cultural issues at all levels of CBS", the filing said. 'The Company is cooperating with the ongoing investigation and related inquiries'.

Moonves resigned from CBS in early September after two New Yorker magazine investigations revealed a dozen women who accused him of harassment or assault.
