Diver Behind Thai Soccer Team Rescue Sues Elon Musk Over Pedophile Remark

Tesla Chief executive Elon Musk has had what seemed like endless problems over the past couple months.

Musk fired back at Unsworth on Twitter, saying, "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it".

Vernon Unsworth, a 63-year-old British diver who helped rescue a Thai youth soccer team, filed a suit seeking $75,000 in damages against Musk on Monday in the Central District Court of California.

Musk in July called Unsworth a "pedo" after Unsworth criticized Musk in a television interview. Unsworth was a key player in the rescue of the Thai boys and Musk never provided any evidence for the seemingly random claims he made about him.

On June. 24, Unsworth received a phone call from his girlfriend's father about the cave incident.

Pregnant Carrie Underwood Reveals She Had 3 Miscarriages in Last 2 Years
Can I be mad? Fearing she would suffer another miscarriage, Underwood looked for answers from a higher power. The 35-year-old singer tells host Tracy Smith that she'd suffered three miscarriages in two years.

Mr Musk later accused Mr Unsworth of moving to Thailand to be with a bride who was about 12 years old.

"As one of the highest-profile and wealthiest individuals in the world, Musk knew that this accusations against Mr. Unsworth would be conveyed to a worldwide audience and would result in the accusations receiving massive publicity", the lawsuit says. However, Unsworth took note a month later when Musk tweeted, "You don't think it's odd he hasn't sued me?"

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Musk and the company. Wood also said that a separate lawsuit was being filed against Musk in the United Kingdom, which has stricter libel laws than the US.

Then in a second email to BuzzFeed, Musk accused Unsworth of being a liar and said he wasn't on the cave dive team. He first started going to Thailand in 2011, where he explored and mapped caves, the documents stated.

It conceded that Mr Unsworth was not involved in the final planning stages of the rescue because he did not have enough experience to make the dive. "Musk's influence and wealth can not convert his lies into truth or protect him from accountability for his wrongdoing in a court of law", his lawyer Lin Wood, wrote in a statement emailed to ABC News.
