Hillary: My Fears About Trump Were Not Overblown

But she said the target always is American democracy, "and right now, our democracy is in crisis". The administration's malevolence may be constrained on some fronts-for now-by its incompetence.

Clinton lists "five main fronts of this assault on our democracy": an "assault on the rule of law"; "the legitimacy of our elections is in doubt"; "the president is waging war on truth and reason"; "Trump's breathtaking corruption"; "Trump undermines the national unity that makes democracy possible". But our democratic institutions and traditions are under siege.

Clinton took particular issue with Trump's attacks on the press and establishment experts, saying a functioning democracy is in dire straits if people can't trust what they hear from such sources. There's not a moment to lose.

After a passive-aggressive description of Trump's victory-she writes "it's been almost two years since Donald Trump won enough Electoral College votes to become president of the United States"-Clinton outlined "five main fronts of this assault on our democracy" by the Trump administration: assault on the rule of law, doubt in the legitimacy of USA elections, "war on truth and reason", "breathtaking corruption", and undermining of national unity".

"They've used their money and influence to capture our political system, impose a right-wing agenda, and disenfranchise millions of Americans", wrote Clinton. We should be clear about this: "The increasing radicalism and irresponsibility of the Republican Party, including decades of demeaning government, demonizing Democrats, and debasing norms, is what gave us Donald Trump", she wrote.

And in its most recent earnings report, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos hinted at his ambition for making Alexa more widely used. Sonos has an Alexa-compatible amplifier and subwoofer, while GE has a microwave that can be connected to Alexa .

Having essentially forfeited easy wins in the Rust Belt, Clinton is now resigned to blaming Trump and the irreparably confused and (probably) intellectually unsound American electorate for the apocalypse she believes has ensued.

She also claims that Trump's presidential election was the result of years of donations from major Republicans like the Koch brothers. "That time has come again", she wrote. In recent weeks, she's been actively fighting his nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
