Le'Veon Bell Not At Steelers' Practice, GM Releases Statement

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has not reported as the team begins their first practice of the regular season.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert is very "disappointed" that the star running back hasn't reported to camp. Bell was expected to report on Monday following his holdout. "Coach Tomlin and the coaching staff will continue to focus on preparing the players on our roster for the regular season opener on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns".

By not signing the tender, Bell missed the Steelers' camp, same as previous year, with no repercussions. This year that hasn't been the case. It's unclear at what point this week the star running back plans to show up, and at least one of his teammates appears to have grown exhausted of the lengthy holdout.

Flooding rains tonight northwest, isolated rain on Labor Day
This will keep temperatures overnight into the upper 60s to low 70s, so not almost as cool and comfortable as last night. On Interstate 395 in Virginia, traffic was stopped on the southbound HOV and main lanes due to deep water and flooding.

Last week, it was reported that Bell had told his teammates he would report on Labor Day but Bell quickly refuted that report.

Bell and Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown arguably are the best players at their respective positions. Unless they remove his franchise tag, every game he misses from here on in will result in a $900,000 penalty, divisible from his $14.5 million salary.
