Liverpool has announced that striker, Sheyi Ojo will spend the rest of the season with French club, Stade Reims after extending his contract with the club.

The England youth global was deemed surplus to requirements by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and is on a season-long loan in France where he is expected to get more game time and develop.

Ojo, 21, who won the Federation Internationale de Football Association U20 World Cup with England previous year, has played 13 official games for Liverpool, but he has mostly played on loan to various clubs including Fulham, Wigan and Wolves.

Liverpool prospect Sheyi Ojo has signed a new contract at Anfield before heading out on loan.

The England U-21 global spent last season on loan at Fulham, where the 4 goals from his 22 appearances helped Slavisa Jokanovic's side earn promotion to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old joined Liverpool's Academy from Milton Keynes Dons in 2011, and made his first team debut for the Reds in 2016 in an FA Cup draw with Exeter.

Wins against Nice and Olympique Lyon gave Reims a strong start to the Ligue 1 season, although they lost 4-1 at Amiens last time out.

Reims confirmed the deal for Sheyi with a message and short video clip on their official Twitter account.
