Make-or-break Senate hearing today for Brett Kavanaugh, accuser

Two other women, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick, have also accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct during his youth.

Kavanaugh has repeatedly denied that he ever sexually assaulted anyone.

According to a document Avenatti posted on Twitter, the woman alleges she witnessed Kavanaugh "consistently engage in excessive drinking and inappropriate contact of a sexual nature with women in the early 1980s".

"These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh", she said. The most damning part of Swetnick's affidavit is when she recounts efforts by Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge to "target" specific girls they viewed as vulnerable and "spike" drinks. "Sure. But I don't feel pressured to make a decision until I'm ready", she said.

With two days to go until Blasey Ford's testimony to lawmakers on September 27, the Senate Judiciary Committee scheduled a preliminary vote on Kavanaugh's nomination for the following day, September 28.

He also claimed that the allegations have a chilling effect on other men.

"[Senate Judiciary] Committee staff have a second interview with a man who believes he, not Judge Kavanaugh, had the encounter with Dr. Ford in the summer of 1982 that is the basis of her allegation", Everett wrote.

Kavanaugh forcefully rejected the latest allegations, in a statement released by the White House.

On Twitter, Trump himself described Democrats' efforts to scupper Kavanaugh's nomination as a "con job" created to ruin a good man. Trump also blasted Avenatti personally on Twitter, calling him a "third rate lawyer" who makes "false accusations" and is "looking for attention". But, he said, the issue is a "moot point" because the committee has not invited her to speak.

"I think it's ridiculous", Trump said of the claims of sexual harassment. "I have never done that to her or to anyone".

He said his wife was "afraid" Trump would nominate Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court and was "very conflicted" about whether she should come forward with her story.

Christine Blasey Ford's accusation that she was sexually assaulted by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh decades ago has prompted other women to reach out for help.

Ford, who Guerry described as "very private", will be facing intense scrutiny during Thursday's Senate hearing about personal details of her life including her marriage, politics and mental health. "We'll wait to see if she gets that invitation and we'll go from there".

The declarations will be used by Ford's attorneys during a committee hearing on Thursday that could determine the fate of Kavanaugh's embattled nomination. She said she has a "firm recollection of boys lined up outside rooms at many of these parties waiting for their "turn" with a girl inside the room. This has everything to do with our country", Trump said.

Ms Swetnick also said she was drugged and gang-raped at a party in approximately 1982 at which Mr Kavanaugh was present. Republicans are pushing to seat Kavanaugh before the November midterms, when Senate control could fall to the Democrats and a replacement Trump nominee could have even greater difficulty.

Ramirez accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself during a drunken dormitory party during the 1983-84 academic year when both attended Yale University.
