Norman grows into Category 4 hurricane in Pacific

When NASA's Aqua satellite passed over Hurricane Norman on August 30 infrared data showed very cold storm tops around a 20 nautical-mile-wide eye.

A west-southwestward motion is forecast to begin tonight and continue through Friday.

The scientific organisation have also predicted, "Some strengthening is possible tonight and early Friday". It was centered about 600 miles (965 kilometers) southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula and was moving west at 7 mph (11 kph).

The NOAA describe hurricane Norman as "a very impressive hurricane in visible and infrared satellite imagery".

The Hurricane Center says Norman could grow even stronger before starting to weaken Friday night or Saturday.

The National Weather Service Central Pacific Hurricane Center in Honolulu and the NWS National Hurricane Center in Miami issued information on August 30, 2018, at 5 a.m. about Hurricane Miriam, now in the Central Pacific, and Hurricane Norman, in the East Pacific.

This hurricane is located around 1,090 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii.

After the ceremony, McCain was to be laid to rest next to his Naval Academy classmate and friend Admiral Charles Larson. Some people will never recover from that, " tweeted Katrina Pierson, an adviser to Trump's re-election campaign.

Norman is already a strong Category 4 hurricane, but additional strengthening is forecast during the next 12 to 24 hours.

Hurricane Norman rapidly intensified on Thursday morning, becoming a major category four hurricane as it moved further away from Mexico's Pacific coast, forecasters said.

The latest hurricane to make landfall was hurricane Lane, which caused devastation across the Hawaiian islands.

Water levels raised to above auto wheels and strong waves battered coastlines, whipped up by Lane's severe winds.

The hurricane produced more than 3ft of rain in some areas.

Closer to Hawaii, Hurricane Miriam strengthened slightly today as it continued to turn northward.
