People Are Destroying Their Nike Gear In Response To Colin Kaepernick Ad

As the National Football League continues to defend itself in an ongoing collusion grievance filed by Colin Kaepernick, its official apparel partner unveiled a new advertisement featuring the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback himself.

He hasn't played in an National Football League game since 2016, yet with this new endorsement Kap will still be getting a good paycheck without any of the bumps and bruises.

"It's not a move that any company can make, but for Nike it's definitely smart business", Dorfman argued.

In backing Kaepernick, whom the company has sponsored since 2011, Nike is making a high-stakes gamble that its customers support his protest, or at least that enough of them do. He also ranted about the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback's "pig socks", which Kaepernick wore while taking a knee on the field during the national anthem, and took jabs at people who criticized his point of view - of which there were many.

Kaepernick and the players that have carried on his protests have stressed that their aim is to draw attention to systematic racism and police brutality, especially cases in which law officers have fatally shot unarmed blacks during traffic stops and other interactions. When Vonn received backlash for those comments, she cited athletes whose activism she admired: Billie Jean King, Arthur Ashe - and Kaepernick.

NFL owners in May approved a new policy which made it mandatory for all players on the field to stand during the pre-match ritual of the USA national anthem.

Trump and his allies have repeatedly seized on the issue.

Dorothy's stolen ruby red slippers found after more than a decade
It was discovered in the days afterward that the alarm system hadn't been set to alert the security firm that night. A glass case containing the ruby slippers was broken and the slippers were removed, according to police.

In fact, the slogan in the ad could well have been referring to Nike's decision to believe in something-and sacrifice customers and revenue as a result.

Of course, there are those who have purchased Nike as a result of the campaign announcement.

Soon, his teammates joined him and the protest spread to other players, lasting into the 2017 season.

After the campaign was released, Williams praised her co-star saying: "I think every athlete, every human, and definitely every African American should be completely grateful and honoured at how Colin and Eric (Reid) are doing so much more for the greater good".

And the NFL's first one handed player, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin, who is an amputee, is also featured in the campaign.

On Monday, Kaepernick tweeted an image of himself with the phrase "Believe in something".
