Seahawks host linebacker Mychal Kendricks on free agent visit

Mychal Kendricks was released by the Browns after being charged with insider trading

Kendricks, who was playing for the Browns on the day McSwain announced the charges, was released by the team just hours after the indictment was announced.

Seattle plans to sign linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It's no secret that free agent linebacker Mychael Kendricks is a quality talent on the field, but he's had trouble finding a job after pleading guilty to insider trading on September 6.

"Prior to signing Mychal, we were informed that there was a financial situation that he had been involved with in 2014", Browns GM John Dorsey said in a statement when the team released Kendricks.

He's appeared in 85 games (74 starts) and has 454 combined tackles, 14 sacks and six forced fumbles.

Caver sues Elon Musk for defamation
However, Unsworth took note a month later when Musk tweeted, "You don't think it's odd he hasn't sued me?" Well, here ya go, Elon. Mr Musk later accused Mr Unsworth of moving to Thailand to be with a bride who was about 12 years old.

However, the National Football League has not taken any action on Kendricks' case, and while he could be suspended later - assuming the National Football League may not be done reviewing his situation - for the moment he is eligible to play.

Seattle's reasoning is the need for depth.

Seattle Times sports writer Bob Condotta noted that in addition to injured KJ Wright, fellow linebacker Bobby Wagner showed up on the Seahawks injury report Thursday. It's often been thought Seattle may well have taken Kendricks - a Fresno native who was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 at Cal - with that pick had he been available.

Federal prosecutors said Kendricks used tips from an acquaintance to make about $1.2 million in illegal profits on four major trading deals.

Sonoiki received Eagles tickets and other items as kickbacks from Kendricks, prosecutors said. "I am committed to repaying all of the funds gained illegally and accept the consequences of my actions".
