Knight was facing possible life in prison if found guilty as originally charged

The rap mogul faces a 28-year prison sentence as part of his plea bargain.

File: Marion "Suge" Knight appears for a hearing at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center March 9, 2015 in Los Angeles.

Knight has been behind bars since January 2015, when he was arrested and charged with intentionally ramming his Ford F-150 pickup into two men in the driveway of Tam's Burgers at Central and East Rosecrans avenues in Compton.

Remember Snoop Dogg's "Death Row is the label that pays me" from "Nuthin" But a "G' Thang"? "He also ran over Cle "Bone" Sloan", who was injured but survived. Attorneys for Knight have said that he was acting in self-defense and that Sloan was armed, which Sloan has denied.

Florence: Two patients dead after van swept away in floods
The deputies transporting the two women reportedly drove around barriers and then were surprised by the flood. Close to 200,000 residents are still without power , and about 7,800 are living in shelters.

The plea deal calls for Knight to serve 22 years in prison on the voluntary manslaughter count, and another six years because it is a third strike violation.

Several sources tell us the former Death Row Records exec will be in L.A. County Superior Court Thursday afternoon to enter a plea in the murder of Terry Carter. Knight lost control of the company after it was forced into bankruptcy.

He had faced life in prison if convicted of murder for killing Carter. He has prior felony convictions for armed robbery and assault with a gun. He was sent to prison in February 1997 for violating his parole, getting in a fight at a Las Vegas hotel hours before Tupac was killed in a drive-by - riding in Knight's auto.
