According to Fox 9 law enforcement sources, Minneapolis Police were called to the Hotel Ivy Saturday afternoon on a report of threats being made by a guest.

Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen is now being evaluated at a Minnesota hospital after concerns were raised over his mental health this past weekend, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Police dispatch audio archived online includes a dispatcher saying that the suspect said to the staff that if someone wouldn't let him in his room that he was going to shoot someone. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer only said that he was "having a personal matter" after the game when asked why Griffen was not there. Pelissero reports that there have been previous concerns surrounding Griffen's mental health. Concerned staff waited for police in an office.

Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman released a statement on the matter Monday night.

Griffen was ruled out for Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills after not practicing last week because of a knee injury. "We are certainly focused on Everson's well-being and providing the appropriate support for him and his family".

Griffen was arrested twice after his rookie season, the first incident coming January 28, 2011, when he was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of public intoxication.

He was detained by police later in Hennepin County after attempting to break-in to another Vikings player's home. He's recorded one sack this season.
