A clip shared August 31 in a Public Safety Commission meeting, ends with her being removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.

Shortly after, she tried to carjack another auto, at which point police surrounded the vehicle and placed her under arrest.

Aerial footage released by the Texas Department of Public Safety shows the woman, named in reports as Catilyn Rodriguez, drive at high speed across several lanes of traffic on a San Antonio highway. Troopers say the woman, who was wanted on warrants, drove off after they tried to stop her.

Rodriguez then got out of the vehicle, took her baby in a carrier from the vehicle, and ran off on foot. An officer is seen throwing a spike strip down on the road, and the SUV rear-ends a truck a short time later.

Dramatic helicopter footage captures the shocking moment a mother crashes her vehicle and attempts to carjack while on the run with her baby.

As smoke seeps out of the crumpled bonnet, she grabs the baby and flees from the crash scene.

Despite having an infant in a portable child vehicle seat in her care, she carelessly speeds down the highway, horrifyingly weaving in front of oncoming traffic.

Another officer removes the uninjured baby and places the auto seat on the pavement.

The baby was handed over to Child Protective Services.

KSAT reports Rodriguez was arrested charged with child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest.
