Canelo Alvarez signs record-breaking $365 million deal with DAZN

Pay-per-view fights on HBO typically cost more than £60 for USA viewers but now fans will be able to watch Canelo and DAZN's other sports offerings for only $9.99 a month. "By bringing Canelo's fights to DAZN, we will turn his pay-per-view success into a growth engine for subscribers - a truly transformational moment for our business and the entire industry".

Alvarez's popularity has exploded over the past few years with big fights with stars like Gennady Golovkin, Amir Khan and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Canelo was most recently aligned with U.S. broadcaster HBO but the network announced it would move away from live boxing coverage at the end of 2018. The agreement between Golden Boy Promotions, Alvarez and DAZN will be officially announced at a press conference Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

Canelo's first fight under his new deal will go down on December 15 against Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden. "That was the most important thing, more important than what I am making". I am moving up in weight and I don't know how my body will feel.

First off, in recent years to watch a Canelo fight in America, you would have had to shell out big bucks to buy one of his fights on pay per view. "But I always want to take on challenges, and I am very happy my fans will be able to see me fight for a small cost".

Guardians of the Galaxy's Bautista Returns to WWE for SmackDown 1000
The Undertaker , Ric Flair, Batista and Rey Mysterio will be among the legends returning for tonight's 1000th episode of SmackDown .

Canelo's move to DAZN occurs at an uncertain, transitionary time for the sport of boxing.

Anthony Joshua's defence of his IBF, WBO and WBA world heavyweight titles against Alexander Povetkin provided its first boxing event streamed in the USA in September.

DAZN, which is owned by the United Kingdom -based Perform Group and overseen by former ESPN president John Skipper, also signed an exclusive deal with the World Boxing Super Series to stream a trio of tournaments promoted by Sauerland Events.

DAZN - owned by the Perform Group - launched in Austria, Germany, Japan and Switzerland in August 2016 and moved into the USA market this year.
