Nicole Kidman 'Destroyer' trailer

Earlier this month, Nicole Kidman told Deadline what drew her to her latest film project, Destroyer.

Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results.

Her performance is being hailed as one of her best ever, and is made even more believable thanks to incredible makeup that makes her look, well, nothing like the Nicole Kidman we've been fawning over for decades now. Check out the Destroyer trailer (featuring quotes from our glowing review here) in the player below, along with a new poster and stills in the gallery! Years later, she's still dealing with the fallout with her daughter when the leader of the gang suddenly resurfaces with a vengeance.

Red Dead Redemption 2 dev attempts to clarify '100-hour weeks' comment
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set at the dawn of the industrial age in a fictional reimagining of the Wild West. There seems to be some confusion arising from my interview with Harold Goldberg.

"I'm mad", she said in the trailer. "I watched [Al] Pacino play these roles, I watched all of the men in the '70s get the chance to do it, but I don't have a female [equivalent]". This film has received lots of attention for Kidman's heavy make-up, which is used in only half the film to show how much she has changed from the past. "I'm all about finding characters and stories that [make me] go, 'This is new, but it's still emotionally relevant'".

Produced by Fred Berger, Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, Destroyer also stars Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn and Scoot McNairy.
