Oscar 'Not A Threat To Bermuda At This Time'

Oscar post

Oscar, the 15th named storm this season, was about 660 miles southeast of Bermuda and 645 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, the National Hurricane Center said in its 11 p.m. advisory. The storm is moving toward the west near 13 miles per hour (20 km/h). The storm made landfall along the Florida Panhandle (as seen in the top video), causing the most damage in Mexico Beach and Panama City.

According to the National Hurricane Center, additional strengthening is forecast during the next several days, and Oscar is expected to make a transition to a tropical storm on Sunday. "After that time, the low is forecast to turn westward and remain well to the north or northeast of the Lesser Antilles through early next week". The Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30, but it usually peaks on September 10-11.

Forecasters expect Oscar to become a hurricane later Sunday as its track curves toward the North Atlantic.

Facebook removes Iran-linked accounts
Accounts and pages dated back several years, but most of the online activity took place in the past year, according to Facebook. It's unclear how many people saw the content being circulated by the now-deleted accounts from Iran.

The Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30 and usually peaks in mid-September.

Subtropical storms have less defined and cooler centres than tropical storms.

The storm also hit Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia.
