Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said captain Laurent Koscielny is almost ready to start playing games again and could make his first appearance of the season next week with the under-23s. "Our first idea is to start [him playing] with the U23s".

"I think Rob Holding is improving, he is taking confidence and with confidence he is his best player", Emery said.

Unai Emery has told Marca that Arsenal were in decline when he took over, having lost their defensive structure under Arsene Wenger.

"We need every player and Rob Holding is very important with his spirit, with his commitment with us and with every player".

"But the first idea is, and maybe on Monday, he can play with the under-23s".

"In pre-season we also had [Konstantinos] Mavropanos - but he is injured now, we had Chambers and we made a decision to let him go on loan to Fulham and we decided that Rob Holding stayed here", explained Emery. "We are conscious now it will be hard".

David Pocock ruled out of England vs Australia with neck injury
The Wallabies have won just 4 of their last 14 Tests going into the match with England . "He's had them at him all year". He has put his head into places where others don't like to go all year and he has copped a few whacks.

Bournemouth striker Joshua King could provide boss Eddie Howe with a major boost by returning to action in Sunday's home Premier League game against Arsenal. "Not because of previous negligence, but to motivate everyone again - to shake it up, to sweep things under the carpet, to open the windows, all positive things".

"But now I am happy because the players are happy and they seem to be sticking to the project".

The Gunners are now on a 16-game unbeaten run heading into the Bournemouth clash and Emery has urged his Arsenal stars to keep their momentum going. "Sixteen matches without a loss is good". What I want is to unite both essences and be more competitive.

"When we were playing we would be stood there and no one would be talking to each other, whereas now there is much more communication".

Arsenal have drawn their last three Premier League games following stalemates with Crystal Palace, Liverpool FC and Wolves to fall behind Spurs in the top-four race.
