Fallout 76 will finally go live later this week-check out the full launch schedule if you want to be there when the flag drops-but there's a lot still to be done after that happens.

Although it is pretty extreme, this sort of thing has become nearly commonplace recently, with Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 also having a day one patch of around 50GB.

It won't be too much longer until Fallout 76 fans are able to dive into the West Virginian wastelands of Bethesda's online-only multiplayer title, with the post-apocalyptic RPG set to become available in less than two days from now.

Bethesda shared another letter to Fallout 76 players before the game's launch that thanked everyone involved with the project and alluded to "an incredible list of updates". Like nearly all major titles, Bethesda has confirmed that the post-apocalyptic title will need to download a "Day One" patch, before the game is even playable.

Kemp: Abrams' refusal to concede 'a disgrace to democracy'
With election officials still tallying votes, Trump declared Kemp the victor and called for the gubernatorial transition to begin. Kemp said on Thursday morning that it's fewer than 21,000 - nearly certainly not enough to force a runoff.

That's a pretty meaty file in itself, but even more so when you consider the fact the game's initial install size is 45GB. Head here for the PC version, here for the PS4 disc, and here for Xbox One.

While it may seem big, Bethesda had mentioned at length what the day one patches would bring.

The digital download may be smaller though, as Bethesda won't be forced to work around a retail version that was locked in place weeks ago.
