Dilhara Lokuhettige has been charged with three counts of breaching the Emirates Cricket Board´s anti-corruption code
Former Sri Lanka all-rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige has been charged with corruption-related offences.
The charges, of which there are three, relate to the T10 Cricket League played in December previous year. The ICC's anti-corruption unit (ACU) continues its investigation in the country.
The charges relate to December 2017's T10 Cricket League in the United Arab Emirates. Sri Lankan cricket has been involved in multiple corruption cases in the past.
The league, with six teams playing the newest ten-overs-a-side format, was held in Sharjah. The team's bowling coach was Nuwan Zoysa, who has been separately charged under the ICC's anti-corruption code over the last fortnight.
Experts warn U.S. at risk of losing war with Russian Federation or China
The commission makes 32 recommendations, urging the Pentagon to explain more clearly how it intends to combat major-power rivals. It consists of 12 former top Republican and Democratic officials.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said it has taken action against Lokuhettige. The other charge appertains to article 2.4.4, a "failure to disclose to the designated anti-corruption officer (without unnecessary delay) full details of any approaches or invitations he received to engage in corrupt conduct".
Lokuhettige played in nine one-day internationals and two T20 internationals between 2005 and 2013. He was recently seen allegedly talking about a fix in Al Jazeera's "Cricket's Match Fixers" documentary, which was aired in May.
He also said the explosion of T20s and other tournaments had created fertile ground for those trying to corrupt players.
