European Union and United Kingdom agree on text of withdrawal agreement

The special meeting on Wednesday could potentially be a flashpoint for tensions between Brexiteers and Remainers around the Cabinet table, with speculation that Leave-supporting ministers including Penny Mordaunt, Esther McVey and Andrea Leadsom could be prepared to quit if a deal ties the United Kingdom too closely to Brussels. If all the ministers are satisfied with the details of the text, Theresa May's cabinet will sign off on the agreement on Wednesday afternoon.

A string of diplomatic meetings are now being lined up to take place if Mrs May survives her Cabinet meeting at 2pm today.

Over the last several months May's government has been rocked by several ministerial resignations.

Former foreign secretary Boris Johnson said he would vote against the deal, claiming it was "vassal state stuff" and urged the Cabinet to "chuck it out".

Details of the agreement are starting to surface now.

The prime minister is also likely to face trouble from the DUP, who are propping up Theresa May's minority government and will fiercely oppose any separate agreement for Northern Ireland.

An agreement between the United Kingdom and European Union over how to prevent a hard border on the island of Ireland as a result of Brexit was reached during intensive negotiations held on Monday and Tuesday, sources told Business Insider.

Chief Whip Julian Smith told reporters: "I am confident that we will get this through Parliament and that we can deliver on what the Prime Minister committed to on delivering Brexit". "And they want this to be the Northern Ireland-only solution that they had previously proposed", May told MPs.

Such an extension, keeping Britain under European Union governance with no say in it, would be highly unpopular with hardline supporters of Brexit.

Citing the promises of the 2016 referendum, she said any deal must ensure Britain can "take back control of our laws, borders and money". Valuable trade between Ireland and Britain is also protected for as long as the transition arrangement maintains the current UK-EU trading relationship.

But to be honest, I have not actually watched the programme. "So no, I don't think doing this will be tougher". The Vamps have a cult following and they'll all be tuning into I'm A Celeb if McVey appears.

"From what we have seen and heard we do not believe this deal is the best deal", Mr Donaldson said. We are working very hard for a deal and let's be clear that is by far our preferred option.

If things go well in the Brexit gauntlet, then a political accord could be reached by all sides at a special European Union summit on 24 or 25 November, leaving enough time for the EU-27 to ratify the text prior to the UK's departure in March. "But our desire for a deal will not be superseded by a willingness to accept any deal", the former first minister said.

The pound rose 1.4% against the dollar on the news on Tuesday.

A nervousness has descended in Dublin over the cabinet meeting in Westminster with a virtual media blackout on the subject of Brexit on Wednesday morning. She told the BBC: "I don't think something that trapped the United Kingdom in any arrangement against our will would be sellable to members of Parliament".

The talks were stuck for months on how to avoid border checks between British Northern Ireland and European Union member Ireland, if and until London strikes a new trade deal with Brussels.

The biggest challenge facing May will come in the House of Commons' vote on the deal.

"If what we have heard is true, this fails to meet the Conservative Party manifesto and it fails to meet numerous commitments that the prime minister makes".

He said: "In the scenario you paint where the DUP refused to vote for it, where there isn't a majority in Parliament, it could go either way".

The solution is meant to be temporary, but pro-Brexit politicians in Britain fear it may become permanent, hampering Britain's ability to strike new trade deals around the world.

He added: "It's not enough for May to secure support for her deal from Cabinet, or even from Parliament".
