The first official trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Detective Pikachu movie has officially arrived, giving us our very first look at the film in action. This looks about as totally insane as it sounds, and it's not surprising they made a Pokemon movie this fast thanks to that popularity of the mobile game. Pikachu is a fluffier version of the Pokemon everyone knows, just with the gruff voice of Reynolds, but some of the others look much different.
Fan-favorite starters like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander make appearances and Mr. Mime and Psyduck get something of starring roles, but there are a few of the more obscure Pokemon scattered around in the backgrounds of plenty of shots, as well.
The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened.

Released Monday, the trailer for director Rob Letterman's (Goosebumps) project takes place in Ryme City, a city where humans and Pokémon live side by side, and focuses on a young man's search for his cop father.
