Brooklyn Nets star Caris LeVert went down with a sickening injury on Monday (local time) against the Timberwolves.

LeVert was racing back to try to block a shot with 3.7 seconds remaining and his leg bent awkwardly when he landed.

The weight of an opponent appeared to come crushing down on his rolled ankle, which was left at a gruesome angle as he lay on the court. Timberwolves players huddled in prayer while Nets players surrounded their injured teammate, who was taken off the court on a stretcher with some Nets in tears. He entered the contest averaging 19.0 points per game, with seven performances of at least 20 points through Brooklyn's first 13 games.

Sarri 'proud' after Chelsea break Premier League record
Morata has scored three goals in his last two Premier League games, including a decisive brace in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last time out.

The Nets termed it a right leg injury and said LeVert has been taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

LeVert scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds before the injury.

Jeremy Lin played with LeVert in Brooklyn last season and cited the young forward's work ethic and sent him best wishes in recovering from the injury - something Lin knows about after a season-ending knee injury a year ago.
