Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman had a tough day against the New Orleans Saints defense in the Thanksgiving game.

The improved New Orleans defense smothered the Atlanta running attack, allowing just 26 yards on 16 carries.

The Saints created four turnovers and sacked Matt Ryan six times as they led wire to wire in sweeping the season series from their longtime rivals while officially eliminating them from the NFC South race.

On the other side of the ball, the Falcons made Drew Brees and the Saints offense work a bit, but the MVP candidate kept getting his team into the end zone when it mattered.

Statistically, Brees did not have one of his more impressive games, completing 15 of 22 passes for 171 yards with his second interception of the season.

As Rams fans know, the Saints were the only team to take down Los Angeles during the regular season to give them the advantage with the head-to-head tiebreaker since both teams will enter Week 13 with a 10-1 record.

US Soldier Dies in Afghanistan
Brent Taylor of the Army National Guard was killed during an insider attack in Kabul that also injured another USA servicemember. Taylor, a father of seven, was on his fourth deployment and a second tour of Afghanistan.

With about four minutes left, cornerback Marshon Lattimore stripped Calvin Ridley on the Saints 1 after a 29-yard completion that looked as though it would end in a touchdown.

Marcus Williams, Vonn Bell and Eli Apple had fumble recoveries and A.J. Klein made an interception for New Orleans. Marcus Williams, P.J. Williams, Sheldon Rankins and Demario Davis each had a sack. The pick was snagged by Damontae Kazee, his NFL-leading sixth this year.

The Saints drove 75 yards on seven plays after the opening kickoff to lead 7-0, with Brees hitting a wide-open Lewis, just back from injured reserve, for a 28-yard touchdown. Carr is a second-year pro who played in only one game without a catch as a rookie. Kirkwood made his National Football League debut three games ago, when Arnold had his first career reception.

Yeah, something tells me this Williams guy is pretty good.
