Pete Davidson brings the Republican he made fun of on ‘SNL’

Pete Davidson appeared on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update on Saturday (November 10) to apologize to Congressman-elect Dan Crenshaw.

The original joke about Crenshaw that landed Davidson in hot water was him giving his first impressions of pictures of Republican candidates.

Pete Davidson addressed his controversy head-on last night by apologizing to Dan Crenshaw in person and on 'SNL'.

Reactions to the bit were mixed, with some impressed by the classiness of SNL and Davidson owning up to and apologizing for a joke in bad taste-and others shaking their head at SNL's willingness to play into bad faith Republican complaints about innocuous jokes on a comedy show.

Crenshaw rolled over to Davidson behind the desk to say, "You think?" The Congressman-elect wholeheartedly accepted the apology, before executing the greatest troll of all time.

Crenshaw lost his right eye to an IED blast in Afghanistan in 2012 during his third deployment. "What bothers me is how far we have fallen that these jokes about the appearance of a war hero who nearly lost his life and will forever be disfigured are making the production cut to be delivered to millions on national television". Dan hilariously asked, "Oh, do you know here?"

Gaza officials say six Palestinians killed in Israeli raid
The Palestinian Health Ministry said six people, including at least five militants, were killed and seven others wounded. Multiple alarm sirens have sounded in the Eshkol Regional Council in southern Israel near the Gaza border.

Crenshaw was then urged to make fun of a photo of Davidson in retaliation, which he gamely did, but the segment ended on a serious note with Crenshaw urging Americans to focus on what unites, not divides them.

"Thanks for making a Republican look good", Crenshaw said to the blue-haired comedian, prompting Davidson to tell him to stop saying that.

"There's a lot to learn here". "The left and right can still agree on some things", Crenshaw said. "We can remember what brings us together as a country and still see the good in each other". "Tell a veteran, "never forget", he continued.

"When you say 'never forget, ' you are implying that as an American you are in it with them, not separated by a barrier between civilians and veterans", Crenshaw said to the camera.

Davidson's father, Scott, a New York City firefighter, died on September 11, 2001 when the World Trade Center was attacked by terrorists.

When it was all said and done, Crenshaw, a rising star in the G.O.P., encouraged people to Never Forget. "And that is from both of us".
