Prime Minister Theresa May's government, struggling to deliver Brexit, had argued that whether or not Britain could reverse the decision was immaterial, since the government had no intention of doing so.

"This is one of the most momentous questions we will ever face in our political careers".

The essence of the proposal of the Ministers is to continue to pay membership dues to the European Union until 2021 and to follow the rules of the unit, avoiding sudden breakage of relationship in March 2019 when the country will leave the EU.

The minister said that Britain would not accept separate treatment for Northern Ireland under a Brexit deal, and dismissed calls for a second referendum.

In Paris, Britain's foreign secretary, Jeremy Hunt, said Brexit negotiations are in "the final phase" and he is confident an agreement will be reached.

Four other tombs were found, including one belonging to Khufu-Imhat, the overseer of buildings in the royal palace. Egypt's ancient relics are a draw for tourists and authorities hope new finds can also help attract more visitors.

"Seven days is probably pushing it, but I am optimistic that there will be a Brexit deal", Hunt said, adding it is "very, very hard to resolve but I am confident that we can".

'We need an EU that is capable and credible when it comes to security, defence, cyber-security and civil protection, ' he told a conference of the centre-right European People's Party (EPP) in Helsinki, Finland.

"We'll have to fight against those who want to demolish Europe, with their populist deceit, with their attacks against the European project", Barnier said. There is now a Farage in every country'.

The European elections will be the first of the post-Brexit era.

The British government says it has no intention of reversing Brexit.
