Burger King is relaunching its app and, as part of the promotion, you can get a Burger King Whopper for just one penny. Get more information here.
In a statement, Burger King explained how the promotion, which it is calling the "Whopper detour", works within 600 feet of any McDonald's restaurant. Under a blurred-out photo of the Golden Arches is the bejeweled hand of the Burger King himself, adding the letter "W" in a key place.
Once the Whopper order is placed, the customer will be "detoured" away from McDonald's, as the app navigates them to the nearest Burger King restaurant, according to a press release.
Be prepared to confuse some McDonald's
If you want one, you better hurry; the deal only works once and ends December 12.
The app then offers directions to a nearby participating Burger King where customers can collect the burger. It also created a mixtape blasting McDonald's, Burger King and other chains earlier this year.
Once within 600 feet of a McDonald's, a deal will unlock on the mobile app that qualifies customers for a $.01 Whopper.
