Jake Gyllenhaal joins Instagram and announces he's in Spider-Man

Jake jumped right into the deep end with a video seemingly confirming he was playing the villain in the next Spider-Man movie, Far From Home.

Jake announced the news after joining Instagram!

In the clip Jake is reading a comic book title titled, The Return of the Man Called Mysterio after discovering something while reading he says: "Woah, what the f..." To seal the deal, the post includes the caption "I just realized I'm not playing Spider-Man". However, the actor and the studio behind the upcoming superhero film have been mum on the topic.

Jake Gyllenhaal fans were in for a huge surprise on Wednesday. "That's what it feels like when you're working".

In October, it seemed clear these talks went well, after people shared footage on social media of what appeared to be the actor shooting scenes in Czech Republic in Mysterio's trademark attire.

The latter turned out to be a nylon replacement, so Bethesda eventually announced that it would upgrade the bags to canvas. Earlier today, Reddit user Jessiepie created a thread on the Fallout subreddit with a disturbing message.

It's good fun, and a sign that we can expect the marketing for Spider-Man: Far From Home to start ramping up.

Mysterio is a special effects expert who commits crimes and fights Spider-Man using elaborate illusions, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is a sequel to 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming and is due to be released in July 2019.
