Kevin Durant Says Media Attention Makes Environment Around LeBron James 'Toxic'

Even the beat writers just fawn over him.

As the best player in the game right now, James naturally brings a lot of attention and high expectations - whether it is fair or not - to any team he plays for. Durant has been linked to the Lakers, Knicks and Clippers as possible destinations if he decides to opt out, as expected, and leave a ready-made National Basketball Association title contender behind. "So, enjoy the journey because we'll be champions before you know it, and then we'll just be laughing at all the Warrior fans who all of the sudden came out of nowhere".

Durant's theory will be put to the test this offseason when Kawhi Leonard hits the free-agent market.

Kevin Durant doesn't necessarily think so.

He began by stating what type of players work with LeBron.

"I want to play here", Leonard said after signing.

On Dec. 7, 2012, history came calling for Bryant as he became the youngest player in National Basketball Association history to reach 30,000 career points. It's not LeBron's fault at all; it's just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word. But the league might change.

Anyone else will likely never miss the effect, but they will notice its absence next time they watch a film. Turning off this effect is an easy process, once you know what you are looking for.

Kobe Bryant might not be lacing his shoes up for the Lakers any longer, but that doesn't mean his competitive spirit has gone away. There's always so many different moving parts.

Does Durant strike you as someone who would want to switch his game?

Some NBA stars are seemingly reluctant to join forces with James in Los Angeles, according to Bleacher Report's discussions with several current NBA players. "You know what you're getting. If you're a strong enough personality, you can handle it".

Bryant said the new Lakers have "a determination to figure it out", and also said "they have talented pieces".

"Guys similar to (LeBron), why would they want to play with somebody who does all the same things?"

"It doesn't matter", James said. The Lakers have dramatically improved their form as well with a 14-9 record, having won seven of their last 10 games, after notably starting the season with a 2-5 record.

"He's very unselfish. He's won multiple championships with other superstars. He's a victor and he's an incredible player and he's unselfish", he said.
