To be more specific, the musician was set to participate in a book signing in New York City this week, and that's obviously not going to happen given recent events.

Mel has not yet revealed how she sustained her injuries.

"I'm absolutely gutted but I can assure you it WILL happen at a later date, I promise".

While recovering, Brown was visited in hospital by bandmates Geri Horner (Ginger); Melanie Chisholm (Sporty); and Emma Bunton (Baby). The book came out November 27th, and she was set to embark on a book tour for the book.

"Ohhh the pain, but I'm in super safe hands with the care of everyone here at the hospital!"

Sharing a snap of them all together around her bed, Mel added: "When your besties show up to hospital with hugs, laughter and lots of love".
