Michelle De Roma purchased the winning ticket to last week's Lotto Max draw during a shopping trip at the Tsawwassen Mills outlet mall on December 26, netting her a whopping $39,517,071.

"It's my husband's birthday, so it's the ideal gift for him", she said.

"This will change our life", she said Friday at a news conference. She bought the ticket at Tsawwassen Mills shopping centre in Delta while doing some Boxing Day shopping.

She won the jackpot in the December 28 draw and says she and her family spent a few days celebrating before claiming the money.

"I just hugged my husband because he's the one who supported me all the way with this". "I went and scanned it myself and it said 'it's a victor, ' and then the number $39 million came up". "My husband didn't believe me at first, so we checked it again online and we matched all the numbers".

Chelsea boss Sarri hints he'd like to work with Pulisic immediately
This is after the West London side recorded a goalless draw against Southampton in the Premier League encounter on Wednesday evening. "He's played a big part for the US national team, so as much as the price tag is massive, which it is, he's ready to perform".

The couple waited several days before coming forward, causing some speculation about how long the mysterious victor might wait before cashing in - particularly as a $1 million prize expired after going unclaimed for a year.

"I really want to go to Rome", she said.

De Roma said she considers the win an "amazing blessing", and had hoped for a miracle whenever she bought lottery tickets.

She also wants to invest some of the money in real estate.

She plans to continue playing the lottery.
