Atletico Madrid snaps up Chelsea misfit

Alvaro Morata has completed a move to Atletico Madrid from Chelsea on an initial loan deal until the end of the 2019/20 season.

He had a medical in Spain on Sunday.

The 26-year-old had a medical in Spain on Sunday ahead of the move after Chelsea signed Argentina global Gonzalo Higuain on loan last week.

Morata told Atletico's official website: "I'm very happy and proud to be here". I can't wait to start training, meet my new teammates and play.

"You have to respect the opinion and the fans can say what they want", coach Diego Simeone said afterwards.

Bradley Cooper's surprise duet with Lady Gaga
After sharing a hug, Gaga announced to Cooper, "I even got you in-ears". Bradley Cooper joined Lady Gaga on stage in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The Spanish striker joined Chelsea 18 months ago for a club record but has struggled to find his form in the Premier League. He scored 24 goals in 74 appearances for the English club since signing for Chelsea from Real Madrid the summer of 2017.

The former Real Madrid forward has failed to find the back of the net since last November and has been usually been left out of matchday squads by Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri's recent signing of Gonzalo Higuain effectively ended his stay after losing his place in the starting XI to Eden Hazard as a false nine.

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has endured a particularly disappointing season to date with just one goal to show from 11 La Liga matches.

Croatia's Nikola Kalinic, who joined Atletico in August, could be allowed to leave.
