Colts part ways with O-line coach Dave DeGuglielmo but the unit’s key to success remains Frank Reich

The team has fired offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo Tuesday, according to a source with knowledge of the decision. DeGuglielmo was one of three coaches already under contract when Ballard had an agreement in place with Josh McDaniels before McDaniels reneged.

Colts head coach Frank Reich let go of DeGuglielmo, as DeGuglielmo was a coach that was not brought in by Reich. Good told the Oakland media that there were foundational issues between him and the Colts offensive line coach that led to his request for a release.

The additions of All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson along with the emergence of right guard Mark Glowinski and rookie right tackle Braden Smith helped the unit become one of the best in the NFL. Matt Eberflus, the defensive coordinator hired under the expectation he'd be working for McDaniels, is expected to be retained.

Oil Slumps Despite OPEC-Plus Production Cuts as Trump Tariffs Batter China
Chart work suggests the March WTI crude oil futures contract is headed back to $48.14 to $46.85 over the near-term. According to recent reports, sources are warning that China is planning to lower its growth forecast to 6%.

DeGuglielmo's Patriots tenure was sandwiched by Dante Scarnecchia.

Johnson, 46, spent two seasons with the Bills (2010-2011) before getting a tight ends coaching job with the Jacksonville Jaguars. DeGuglielmo's line faded badly in that final season, which ended with Tom Brady being hit 20 times and sacked four in an AFC Championship game loss at Denver. He was brought in by Josh McDaniels past year after McDaniels verbally agreed to become the head coach of the Colts, and the team chose to keep him on its staff. DeGuglielmo worked as the O-line coach with the New England Patriots in 2014 and 2015 when Dante Scarnecchia briefly retired.
