Broncos to name Vic Fangio new coach; Kubiak returning to sideline

Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio agreed to become the Broncos head coach

Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio agreed to become the Broncos head coach

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - In hiring Vic Fangio, the Denver Broncos are returning to a formula they trust. The interim head coach, Gregg Williams, meanwhile, lost out on both the top job and his defensive coordinator job, being fired Wednesday, according to ESPN.

This is the first head coaching job for the 60-year-old, but he has more than 30 years of coaching experience in the NFL.

Former 49ers and Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has agreed to become the next Denver Broncos head coach. His offenses have ranked in the bottom half of the league in each of the past three seasons, and in 2018 the 6-10 Broncos were 24th in points scored.

Broncos general manager John Elway also reportedly considered Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak as a candidate for the vacant position. Fangio has been coaching since the late 1970s and has climbed the coaching latter and has experienced vast amounts of success at the game's highest level. It was the first time they were in the top three in the National Football League in points and yardage since the 2005 season.

In case you need a refresher, Tahani constantly resented her sister Kamilah, whose name means "Perfect" in Arabic and is all around, well, ideal in the eyes of their parents.

"I pay attention to the schemes that these guys run".

The hires mean that only the Jets, Dolphins and Bengals remain in the hunt for their next head coach. He did a strong job of putting together a staff a year ago, but Fangio and the defense was already in place. It also seems likely that Fangio will call the defensive plays in at least his first year, with whomever he names as defensive coordinator getting the title in name only. He has served as a defensive coordinator since 1995 with stops in Carolina, Indianapolis, Houston, San Francisco and Chicago, where's he worked since 2015.

This is a team that was built on defense last season. In his final season leading the Bears defense, they ranked as the No. 3 overall defense while boasting the NFL's best run-stopping defense.
