Dolphins cut ties with head coach Adam Gase Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase

Apart from Ross having a strong interest in Ravens coach John Harbaugh, the post-Tannenbaum front office could be impossible to staff, given that Gase holds full control over the football operation.

And so the final day of the season has arrived, and the time has come for coaches to be fired or not fired, and as everyone looks for a surprise, some are suggesting that a Gase firing could be that surprise.

Shortly after that announcement, former Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry took to Twitter and laughed at the news of Gase being fired. In his first season with the Dolphins, he led the Dolphins to the playoffs for the first time since 2008 with a record of 10-6. A 42-17 loss Sunday at Buffalo sealed his fate.

In a series of tweets that have not been deleted, West simply wrote, "Love everyone", and " All positive vibes ". The tweets are ongoing and we'll be updating the thread as he shares.

Ultimately, Gase's biggest gripe with the 2018 season was with the health of his team, as he often said, "I wish everybody hadn't gotten hurt". The past two years, Gase compiled a 13-19 record.

Gase may resurface now with another team, like the Packers or Browns, perhaps even as a head coach. Stuck on a treadmill of mediocrity, they've finished with six to eight wins in nine of the past 10 seasons, and haven't won a playoff game since 2000. Tannehill's inability to stay healthy - missing 24 games in Gase's three seasons - and inconsistency hamstrung the Dolphins offense and paved the way to Gase losing his job. The next coach will be their 10th since 2004, including three interim coaches. To start things, the Dolphins will likely release or try to trade quarterback Ryan Tannehill as the team can save as much as $18.7 million against the salary cap by parting ways. Gase was Manning's quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator for three seasons with the Denver Broncos.
