Crews respond to a deadly car accident early Sun. Jan. 6 2019 in Lexington Ky. WKYT-TV
Authorities in Kentucky say five family members from MI headed home from vacation were among six people killed in a wrong-way accident on Interstate 75.
A coroner's statement identified the family members as Issam Abbas, 42; Rima Abbas, 38; Ali Abbas, 41; Isabella Abbas, 13, and Giselle Abbas, 7.
The crash occurred when a white Chevy pickup truck heading south in the northbound lanes hit an SUV head-on, investigators said, leaving the truck badly damaged while the SUV caught fire.
The Abbas family was travelling home from a Florida vacation.
According to a report from LEX 18 in Kentucky, the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. near the 107 mile marker.

Investigators are now working to find any witnesses who saw the 41-year-old man driving the pickup truck prior to the crash.
Authorities believe that Bailey was driving under the influence.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to the Islamic Center of America of Dearborn, Michigan, funeral services for the family are set for Tuesday at the centre.
The Lexington Police Department is now asking for help from anyone in the public who may have seen the white pickup truck prior to the collision.
