Hackers hold 9/11 insurers to ransom

Stolen documents from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NY and the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals include arguments regarding liability, such as filings arguing for or against the liability of airport operators and airlines.

This is not the first incident regarding the group, known as the Dark Overlord. Although it's still encrypted, they have given notice of their intention to release the appropriate decryption keys unless ransom payment is made in Bitcoin.

In a statement posted to Pastebin, the Dark Overlord said it stole "hundreds of gigabytes of litigation related documents", including emails, voice mails, retainer agreements, nondisclosure agreements and communications between government bodies and Fortune 500 companies.

"We'll be providing many answers about 9.11 conspiracies through our 18.0000 secret documents leak from @HiscoxComms and others", the Dark Overlord tweeted, before its account was suspended on Wednesday. The information will tell the actual story of everything that happened on this fateful date in recent history. Some of those already dropped include references to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transport Security Administration (TSA), and several law firms.

Mariners land Japanese left-hander Kikuchi
Kikuchi is a 27-year old left-handed starting pitcher from the Japanese Nippon League where he plays for the Seibu Lions. If they decline to do so, Kikuchi either can trigger a $13 million option for the 2022 season or elect free agency.

They promise that more will come if their demands are not met.

"Hiscox Syndicates Ltd and Lloyds of London are some of the biggest insurers on the planet insuring everything from the smallest policies to some of the largest policies on the planet, and who even insured structures such as the World Trade Centers", the group said in the announcement. The material allegedly comprises confidential government documents retained by legal firms.

Speaking with the Daily Dot, the hacker group stated that it would stop the crowdfunding effort only when the affected companies agreed to pay them a substantial sum. "If you're a terrorist organisation such as ISIS/ISIL, Al-Qaeda, or a competing nation state of the U.S. such as China or Russian Federation, you're welcome to purchase our trove of documents".

Some of the documents were nabbed in an April hack of a law firm associated with Hiscox that the firm acknowledges could have exposed 1,500 of its USA commercial policyholders. The Dark Overlord alleges that further extortion was necessary since their victim cooperated with law enforcement although they paid the ransom related to the earlier hack. This is also assuming that the group really has everything it says it does, which isn't guaranteed. The hackers are believed to have stolen data from at least 50 companies.
