James DeGale vs Chris Eubank Jr

One of the main stories around the fight besides the compelling nature of it and the fact it's a genuine grudge match is that Eubank Jr has made a decision to bring in a new coach for the match.

DeGale recently gave up the IBF title he regained by beating Caleb Truax on points in April previous year, having suffered a shock defeat against the unheralded American four months earlier.

The son of former middleweight champion Chris Eubank, he spoke of his new team, which he believes will leave no stone unturned for the fight.

"DeGale is going to get the schooling of his career".

"Whoever loses this can knock it on the head, it's game over".

"A lot of people think I am in decline but they are in for a shock".

Eubank Jr is ready to "school" DeGale.

"James talks retirement but it has never even come into my mind", said Eubank Jr. "This fight has been four, five years in the making. In February it's going to be a painful lesson for [DeGale]". "I know everything about you".

DeGale (25-2-1, 15 KOs) vacated his IBF belt in June previous year in order to pursue bigger fights, rather than facing a mandatory.

The two British stars, both looking to breathe new life into their careers, will meet at London's O2 Arena.

DeGale took that fight once it became clear his fight with the former IBO champion - who was last in action against JJ McDonagh at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, back in September - wasn't going to happen at the back end of 2018.

"Ronnie Davies has been by my side but hasn't trained me, he's been more overseeing things".

"When he [Eubank Jr] first turned professional the guy was calling me out". He has been living with me.
