Kendall Jenner Soulja Boy & more may soon face subpoenas over Fyre Festival payments

'If Kendall Jenner donated her 250k Instagram post payment to the Bahamian workers who built Fyre Festival I'd nearly be willing to forgive this Proactiv journey she;s on, ' wrote NY author Lara Marie Schoenhals.

Documents filed on Friday with the southern NY federal bankruptcy court, which have been obtained by Tribune Business, reveal that Gregory Messer is seeking a court order to serve subpoenas on both Bahamian and USA entities that supplied services/goods to a festival that became a chaos-stricken debacle threatening The Bahamas' tourism reputation in April 2017.

As the world reels from the revelations of incompetence, fraud and dick-sucking found within Netflix's Fyre Festival documentary, the legal saga continues - and now, the models and influencers who promoted the failed luxury festival are in the cross-hairs.

Court records show models, performers and social media influencers were paid $5.3 million in advance of the event, but the trustee said he can not determine what each payment was for, in part because Fyre Festival promoter Billy McFarland is in prison, serving a six year sentence after pleading guilty to multiple counts of fraud.

The Lakers are the big favourites for his signature partly because he shares an agent with LeBron James . The Celtics are limited in what they can offer the Pelicans before July 1 due to the NBA's Rose Rule .

Fyre Festival was pitched as a unique and exclusive concert experience in Grand Exuma Island, Bahamas, with tickets costing as much as $100,000. A separate subpoena was requested for DNA Model Management, the agency that represents Emily Ratajkowski and was paid $299,000 by McFarland in March 2017.

One subpoena is meant for IMG Models, the agency that represents Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber and Elsa Hosk - who all appeared in a Fyre Festival promotional video - and were paid $1.2 million, according to court records.

As for Kenny, Messer is also looking into a $250,000 payment she received in January 2017.

Billy MacFarland is now a few months into a six-year jail sentence for mail fraud. Four months later, she promoted the event on Instagram without indicating that she was being paid for the post; sparking a warning from the Federal Trade Commission about rules for sponsored posts on social media.
