Mercedes-Benz CLA Revealed - Gets New Interiors And A Tonne Of Tech

Maybe the new Audi A3 will be a bit nicer looking but this CLA-Class is very attractive inside. Expect high-performance AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45 models to come later. Like the A-Class, the CLA will offer a bevy of active safety systems but not many of them will be standard. A larger stabiliser bar and optional active adaptive damping which should ensure that it drives extremely well.

New CLA gets similar design cues as new CLS, making it more attractive than before.

The interior, meanwhile, features a front end that has essentially been lifted nearly wholesale from the A-Class, complete with a wide, free-standing flatscreen display panel and turbine-style air vents. The two-piece, narrow tail lamps and the number plate housed in the bumper make the rear of the CLA look especially wide. But it now looks as good on the inside as it did on the outside and boasts of features straight from the flagship S-Class.

The new CLA also features a wider track, by 63 mm at the front and 55 mm at the rear compared to the first-gen. These new proportions should result in a more spacious cabin than before, but it does offer a boot capacity that is 10 litres smaller than before.

Like it or not, the curvy four-door "coupe" introduced in 2013 became the banner for Mercedes-Benz entry-level luxury in the U.S. More than 750,000 CLA models were sold worldwide, including almost 150,000 in the U.S. -the small auto even made its way into car-sharing services in some cities.

The CLA on display at CES 2019 is the CLA250 derivative, which employs a 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine worth 165 kW and 350 N.m.

It was supposed to be the ideal political portrait - the smiling family man prime minister with his beaming wife and kids. It was also pointed out by another user, Andre Serna, that the shoe on Mr Morrison's right foot was actually a left shoe.

By the European market launch in May, there will be a broad range of diesel and petrol engines available featuring manual or dual-clutch transmissions and 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The biggest change is inside though.

The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 is a tech-heavy, style-centric sedan with a more potent turbo-4 and the automaker's latest infotainment system. Of course, the main talking point for Mercedes' most affordable sedan is the all-new styling. The voice recognition technology is improved and now recognises more complex commands. Flip a "v" at the centre console and MBUX will also access a personal favourites menu. The MBUX system connects to the internet via a built-in cellular connection (data sold separately) to offer search-related answers to questions like "Hey Mercedes: Who won the college football national championship last night?" or "Hey Mercedes: Are there any Indian restaurants near me?"

Paring the MBUX with another Mercedes premiere at CES, the Benz-branded Garmin vivoactive 3 Global Positioning System smartwatch will make for a driving experience like no other, promises the carmaker.

This new vehicle looks better than the previous one, though I still feel as if it looks like it's melting at the back.
