Anderson: Gurley was 'more hurt than what we thought' when I signed

C.J. Anderson explains how Patriots game plan stumped Rams offense

Appearing on FS1's Undisputed Tuesday, Rams RB C.J. Anderson revealed that star running back Todd Gurley was hurt more than the Los Angeles Rams were willing to let on during the end of the season and into the postseason.

"Bill does a great job of putting his team in the right position", Anderson said.

With Los Angeles cruising late in the season to the NFC West title and nearing a first-round bye in the playoffs, the team made a decision to rest Gurley for Weeks 16 and 17 and give plenty of work to the newly acquired Anderson. Gurley rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries while Anderson racked up 123 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.

Anderson had 299 rushing yards in the final two games of the regular season and was featured in the playoffs.

Anderson said while Gurley never disclosed to him the injury, he believed it to be a sprained knee. Further injury to his knee could cost him his career. "Obviously, I had surgery on my meniscus and once you have a knee [injury], you always have a knee [injury]".

Michael Cohen prison date pushed back to May 6
A NY federal judge on Wednesday granted former Trump fixer Michael Cohen a two-month delay for when he must report to prison. They noted prosecutors did not object to the one-time extension.

- With h/t to USA TODAY Sports. But, Gurley finished with just 10 carries for 35 yards and one reception for -1 yard, which came following the NFC championship game when he had just four carries for 10 yards. I think (the Patriots) slowed down all our big plays, and it was kind of frustrating, and that's kind of how the game went. I was receptive to tell like, 'If Todd wants to go he wants to go.' And I was OK with that. "They played some great gap control against us". After his usually high-powered team could only muster 260 total net yards in a desultory display, McVay said that Gurley's relative lack of touches was a result of the Rams' overall inability to sustain drives.

One of the biggest mysteries from Super Bowl LIII is why Rams running back Todd Gurley wasn't involved.

On the one hand, this could all be easily explained away by his knee troubles.

Gurley, who has had more touches than any other back in the National Football League since 2017, has taken a beating throughout the last two seasons.
