Baby dies after being found unresponsive in hot vehicle in Sydney's west

Police are investigating whether a toddler died after accidentally being left in a hot auto at a home in Sydney's west.

A one-year-old boy has died after he was left in a auto in the blistering heat.

Paramedics were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have been told the boy was in his grandmother's care at the time.

"The cause of death is yet to be determined".

Temperatures in Chester Hill exceeded 30 degrees today.

The circumstances that led to the death of Hamdi Naasan, a Palestinian father of four, last Saturday remain in dispute. The crunch over funding for security coincides with the end of all USAID projects in the Palestinian territories.

The child was found inside the family home, but it is not yet known how long he was left inside the vehicle.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the boy was left in the vehicle for several hours, with temperatures reaching 34C.

It's not known how long the child was in the auto.

The death is still the subject of a police investigation, with police officers from Bankstown Police Area Command establishing a crime scene and continuing investigations.
