With people spending the majority of their time at work, people need to feel more "comfortable" about discussing mental health in the workplace and this change needs to come from the top, CEO of City Mental Health Alliance, Poppy Jaman, has argued on Time to Talk Day. "The more we talk, the more lives we can affect with positive change".

"We are pleased to be taking part in and supporting Time to Talk Day because mental health is a topic we should all feel able to talk about". As campaign ambassador Lauren explains in Time to Change's five tips on getting people to open up, there is no "right" way to talk about mental health, but sometimes thing are better when they're kept more casual.

Councillor Liz Wardlaw, Cheshire East Council cabinet member for health, said: "The council signed the Time to Change pledge back in October a year ago, to signal its commitment to change perceptions of mental health, as well as providing reassurance to staff facing difficulties about how they will be supported". Only a third of men (34 per cent) would talk openly about their feelings, while just under one third (31 per cent) said that they would be embarrassed about seeking help for a mental health problem.

"Encouraging people to have open, honest discussions is vital in ensuring individuals, at any business level, receive the support they need", she said. However, Time to Talk day creates a brilliant opportunity to think about initiatives that can help create conversations and remove the stigma that surrounds the issue. The data also shows that mental health issues have overtaken all other areas of traditional concern for employees, including: work stress, relationships, and general health issues.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes teamed up with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Alberta South Region during Tuesday night's Western Hockey League game against the Regina Pats to raise awareness about the importance of mental health within the sporting community.

Lakers have interest in adding Carmelo Anthony
He hopes the talk will promote an open dialogue and will attempt to speak to anybody on the team with concerns, the report said. Los Angeles has acquired forward Mike Muscala from the Clippers for Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac , according to ESPN.

Chief Constable Winton Keenen said, along with the public, it was vital that emergency services personnel have access to mental health services.

If you are anxious about your mental health, you may benefit from speaking to a professional.

While there is no doubt that recent years have seen an improvement in the way mental health is discussed in the media and society at large, among young men especially, opening up about mental health problems can often still seem a topic that is hard or awkward. Every Ally has gone through a half-day classroom-based training session, raising their understanding and capability in addressing mental health challenges through role-plays and scenarios.

The initiative is led by social movement "Time to Change" - which is supported by dedicated mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. Which is better for them - and makes for a thriving and successful business.
