Cassius Winston outduels Ethan Happ in Michigan State win over Wisconsin Badgers

The Wolverines worked on cutting into the Penn State lead as the defense forced a jump ball in their favor, Simpson hit two free throws on the opposite end and Teske completed an and-one play with 12:34 left in the second half to cut Michigan's deficit to 52-45.

The game was still within Wisconsin's reach with under a minute to go, but after a failed defensive assignment allowed Michigan State's Kenny Goins to sink a wide open three to give the Spartans a 62-56 lead with 32 seconds to go, the Badgers had foiled their chances of winning.

Back came Wisconsin, specifically Happ. Pritzl made two free throws and then nailed a three-pointer to give the Kohl Center a burst of energy.

Though the game slowed down considerably in the second half, the Spartans' run-and-gun style seemed to tire out the Badgers and lead to the battle of attrition that occurred later on.

Just like the first half, the two teams continued to trade leads and stay close to one another in the second period.

Charles Matthews had 24 points to pace Michigan, which fell into a tie with Michigan State atop the conference 11-and-3.

The Badgers shot six of 20 from three-point range, and five of 12 from the free throw line, including a rough zero for six night from Happ. "But there's so many things in the other 37 minutes that we can be better at".

This action affects approximately 4,200 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and approximately 150 in Canada. The company said it is now unaware of any reports of accidents or injuries resulting from the condition.

"They were not giving our three point shooters much room", head coach Greg Gard said after the game.

Wisconsin redshirt senior center and Wooden Award candidate Ethan Happ scored 20, but in many ways it was by design.

Since that last long-distance make, he is 0-for-5 from 3-point land.

Happ's 20 points put him at 2,000 for his career as he became the fourth player in Big Ten history to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in their career. Happ is also the first conference player to do that in more than 35 years.

The Spartans ended the game with 13 fast-break points, and pushed the ball for long stretches of the game against a Wisconsin team more comfortable playing in the halfcourt. Nick Ward finished with 12 points and six rebounds, while Aaron Henry added eight points - including a key jumper with 2:29 to play that sparked MSU's closing run.

In addition to the stout defensive showing, Michigan State out-rebounded Wisconsin 40-28. A late triple from Goins put the game away for the Spartans.

Wisconsin: The Badgers, who had their six-game winning streak snapped on Saturday by MI, missed out on a chance to keep pace with the conference leaders.
