Along with those hit sitcoms, the WarnerMedia streaming service - which still doesn't have a name or a price point, but is set to launch in beta form by the end of the year - has its eye on CW shows like The Flash, Arrow and Riverdale that now make Netflix their streaming home.

And as for all the hubbub about WarnerMedia's reported $100 million deal to license "Friends" to Netflix through the end of 2019, Reilly hinted that the hit show would be back in WarnerMedia's stable soon enough.

TBS and TNT President Kevin Reilly who is involved in the oversee of the new Warner Media streaming service said today that in regards to Friends down the road, the series is bound to play exclusively on the media corp's new platform. In terms of genre shows, this would include Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, and Supergirl.

"You can expect that the crown jewels of Warner will ultimately end up on the new service", he said Monday, adding that "sharing destination assets like that..."

The unnamed service will also offer access to HBO programming and the Warner Bros. library of theatrical films.

As Reilly said, "There is no piece of content in the Warner Media portfolio that won't be looked at for the service initially". DC Universe definitely operates that way as well, with some content coming and going all the time.

WarnerMedia isn't looking to battle with Disney or beat Netflix, said Reilly, but "close the loop" between linear television and a digital out-of-season home for content, and keep viewers within WarnerMedia's ecosystem. While Warner's streaming app will likely share some DNA with DC Universe, the fan-centric app has room for things like comic books and message boards which likely will not be high priorities for the more general service. "Create an equation where there's no break in the consumer experience". Interestingly, but unsurprisingly, he stated that most of the shows that were once available on other streaming services would no longer be available. Pulling it away (from Netflix)?
