The famous socialite and NYC native - pictured above, left, with her daughter Carole Radziwill, who is a cast member on the Real Housewives of NY - was 85 years old when she passed away on Friday at her home.

Lee Radziwill passed away peacefully from natural causes at her Manhattan home on Friday, her family said via a statement. During their marriage, she went by the name Princess Lee Radziwill. Initially, Radziwill was defensive on the topic of Kennedy Onassis saying, "Please tell me this is not a story about my sister and me".

The American socialite Lee Radziwill, who was Jackie Kennedy's younger sister, has died. Soon afterwards, she married Prince Stanislaw Radziwill with whom she would have two children, Anthony and Christina.

Radziwill also made forays into interior decorating and fashion event-planning. They were confidantes as young women, and Ms. Radziwill was a frequent guest at the White House during President John F. Kennedy's administration.

The former princess married publishing executive Michael Temple Canfield in 1953.

Radziwill had several careers over her lifetime.

In the '70s, she followed the Rolling Stones on tour with her sidekick, the acclaimed novelist and social butterfly Truman Capote, and was famed as a confidante of such figures as Pop Art legend Andy Warhol and ballet icon Rudolf Nureyev.

He was sentenced in November 2017 to 21 months in prison over the sexting scandal but was released early due to good behavior. Weiner was also sentenced to serve three years probation upon his release, and was required to register as a sex offender.

"There were so many things I couldn't do when my brother-in-law was president", Radziwill told Vanity Fairin 2016. She had three careers, starting off with a brief but failed stint as an actress during the 1960s.

Radziwill recoiled at suggestions of resentment toward her sister, telling People magazine in 1976, "It's just the most ludicrous talk in the world that we're rivals".

Another scrapbook memoir, One Special Summer was a 1974 release that followed her first trip to Europe when she was 18, chaperoned by Jackie, then 22.

Tragically, her son Anthony died in 1999 from cancer.

Radziwill's close friend Mathilde Favier, public relations director for Christian Dior, told WWD that the late icon introduced her to her husband - and that Radziwill's death is a tragic loss.

She married Prince Radziwill, a descendant of Polish royalty who became an English subject, in 1959.
