Following Kavanaugh's confirmation, Archila issued a statement, in which she wrote, "Earlier this week, I shared my survivor story for the first time in front of Senator Jeff Flake's office, and I know that I am not alone".
In the video, Ocasio-Cortez tells Archila that she bought them matching pins with the message "well-behaved women rarely make history".
Archila also said that she has "never felt so proud of voting for someone as when I voted for Alexandria".
Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) invited one of the women who confronted Sen. "Look at me, and tell me that it doesn't matter what happened to me - that you will let people like that go into the highest court of the land". I told it because I recognized in Dr. Ford's story that she is telling the truth.
"I would not have ever told my story otherwise - I hadn't in 30 years", she said. What you are doing is allowing someone who actually violated a woman to sit on the Supreme Court'.
'That's what happened to me, and that's what you are telling all women in America, that they don't matter, ' she said, sobbing.
