Dune Reboot Adds Josh Brolin to A List Ensemble

As previously reported, Brolin joins a cast that includes Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, and Charlotte Rampling. Halleck is also the Atreides clan's warmaster, and develops a special bond with the Duke's son, Paul (Timothée Chalamet).

Legendary acquired the film and television rights to Frank Herbert's novel in November 2016 with Arrival director Denis Villeneuve officially signing on to helm a feature film reboot in February 2017.

Patrick Stewart made one of his first film appearances as Halleck in David Lynch's adaptation of Dune in 1984.

UN court has jurisdiction to hear part of Iran-US dispute
The US Supreme Court awarded the money to victims of a 1983 bombing in Lebanon and other attacks linked to Iran. It includes a clause that sends unresolved disputes about interpretation of the treaty to the world court.

Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049) is directing and co-writing the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families. Kevin J. Anderson will act as a creative consultant. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man's relationship to nature as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family's control of Arrakis.

Brolin probably needs no introduction to the BMD crowd, but it's worth pointing out that this'll be his second time to work with Villeneuve, after 2015's Sicario. Moriarty reprised the role for the network's sequel series, Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. He'll finish up in Avengers: Endgame which bows April 26.
